Corporate Shoot With Magus

Having braved the sleet and biting winds of Hammersmith back in January of this year (an inspiring urban bridal shoot with Joe Photo), I threw myself into the 18:32 train from London Victoria to Pulborough. This is never a particularly pleasant experience (especially when loaded down with kit) but if one is sandwiched close to an interesting travel companion then so much the better. I found myself chatting to Mike Aitken (above, by the tree) Managing Director of Magus Financial Management, and enjoyed a fascinating hour learning of Mike's earlier career in the gold mines of Africa, before Mike finally settled in West Sussex and grew his financial consultancy business. We exchanged cards and I was delighted to photograph Mike and his colleagues last month for their new website and brochure. Magusfm occupy the most idyllic location in Ashurst, close to Steyning in West Sussex. Spithandle Barn has been wonderfully converted into a cutting edge and very glamourous place of business, and we decided to forgo the usual (and not terribly inspiring) desk shots and made use of the surrounding location, which mostly comprises of equestrian fields, stocked with quality animals, all of whom decided to involve themselves with the group of humans wandering across their meadow towards a small wood. We were greeted, snuffled and licked to the point where one of the consultants experienced the most horrendous allergic reaction and thus had to forgo the tight headshot I'd envisaged. No amount of re-touching would sort the poor man's swollen, streaming eyes. I've attached a shot of one of the culprits.

We had a lot of fun that afternoon and at the time I didn't realise I was in such ilustrious company - Dante Peters (at the very top of this post) is a regular contributor to the financial bulletins on CNN and is ranked in the top 40 in the world.
